ENGLISH: yes, we are running a bit late with Time Traveller, but is cause we want to make a perfect job. And since now almost every detail is fixed, we assure will be well worth the wait: a double CD with a total of 38 tracks, for a total time of 140 minutes of music and a very cool special packaging edition with the arts of our Daniele Scerra (see also the photo section of our site). The final roster of artists who collaborated with us in it is now complete. They are: Queenie (3 tracks), Corrado Rossi, Dave Long (2 tracks), John Worsley, Scott Hill, Lisa & KMP, Trulala, Andrea Ferroni, DCallen (1 track each). The final mastering will be made by a great italian studio (who works also for big names of the italian scene, such as Eiffel 65) and the official release date, due to the mastering & printing time, will be January 1st, 2007. No more delays, then! :-)

ITALIANO: anche se siamo in ritardo su quanto avevamo preventivato, ora siamo in dirittura d'arrivo e vi assicuriamo che ne varrà la pena: 38 brani divisi su due CD per un totale di 140 minuti, in cui troverete artisti di caratura internazionale, come Queenie (3 pezzi), Corrado Rossi, Dave Long (2 pezzi), John Worsley, Scott Hill, Lisa & KMP, Trulala, Andrea Ferroni, DCallen (1 pezzo ciascuno) e la grafica sarà curata dal nostro grande Daniele Scerra (vedete anche la sezione foto del nostro sito per alcune anteprime). Il mastering finale verrà realizzato da uno studio professionale italiano (che, tra l'altro, ha lavorato con artisti del calibro di Eiffel 65). La data di uscita ufficiale è quindi fissata: 1 Gennaio 2007. Nessun ulteriore ritardo, quindi! :-)

ENGLISH: we are proud to announce that "Time Traveller" (a double CD with more than 2 hours of music in total), after some month of delay, is almost complete. The album will contain also some GREAT collaboration tracks with absolutely GREAT talents from around the world. So you'll find, together with us, some old friend of ours such as Gamma Leonis (our friends John Worsley and "Lonesome Dave", that helped us in "Discovery" (from "The Alchemist") and with the audiobook version of the booklets. But you'll also find the names of amazing talents such as Mediterranea & Scott Hill, KMP & Lisa, DCallen, Gamma Leonis, Andrea Ferroni, Queenie, Trulala, Corrado Rossi and (if we can complete it in time) maybe also a couple of others. But I believe the names of those talented friends are already enough to be proud of our incoming work. We will never thanks enough those talented friends for their help! :-)
Once again we did work on a concept album, separated into two stories "Past" and "Future", and the booklet story will be illustrated by our incredible electric guitarist Daniele Scerra (check his site at http://www.danielescerra.com to see his amazing works, or check some of the artworks directly from our official website) and written by our acoustic guitarist Duilio Chiarle (taleented with the acoustic & classic guitars and even more as a writer). We really hope you'll enjoy our work as we are trying anything to give you more than a collection of songs: our goal is to let you live an adventure with music, words and images. We started to do that two years ago with our first album "A traveller who didn't ask for glory" and tried to do even better in our "The Alchemist". We are still growing and try to give you always something new and, whenever possible, at the very best of our skills.

ITALIANO: siamo orgogliosi di annunciare che, dopo mesi di ritardo sulle nostre previsioni, il terzo album dei TWM, "Time Traveller" (un doppio concept-album contenente più di due ore di musica), è ormai quasi completo. L'album conterra' anche il frutto della collaborazione dei The Wimshurst's Machine con grandi nomi della musica indipendente mondiale. Vi troverete infatti sia "vecchi amici" come i Gamma Leonis (che gia' collaborarono con noi in "Discovery", contenuta in "The Alchemist", ma anche per la realizzazione dell'audiobook tratto dai racconti su cui si basano i nostri concept-album) ma anche altri grandi talenti da tutto il mondo come i Mediterranea, Scott Hill, KMP & Lisa, DCallen, Andrea Ferroni, Queenie, Trulala, Corrado Rossi e (se riusciremo a completarle per tempo) forse anche altre ancora. Ma gia' cosi' c'e' di che essere grati ed orgogliosi di poter ospitare cosi' tanti meravigliosi talenti in un nostro album. Non finiremo mai di ringraziare questi talkentuosi amici per il loro prezioso aiuto! :-)
Anche "Time Traveller" ("il viaggiatore del tempo") sara' un concept-album, come gia' fu per i nostri primi due, separato in due storie distinte ma correlate "Past" ("Passato") e "Future" ("Futuro"). Il libretto contenuto nel CD sara' illustrato dal nostro Daniele Scerra (che oltre a suonare basso e chitarra elettrici e' un eccellente illustratore, potere constatare da voi su http://www.danielescerra.com che e' il sito ufficiale dedicato alle sue illustrazioni) e la storia sara' scritta dal nostro Duilio Chiarle (che oltre a deliziarci con le sua chitarre classiche & acustiche e' un eccellente scrittore). Noi tutti speriamo vivamente vi piaccia il lavoro che stiamo facendo: infatti tentiamo di darvi ben di piu' di una raccolta di canzoni, ma tentiamo di darvi la colonna sonora di un'avventura (come gia' iniziammo a fare sin da "A traveller who didn't ask for glory" e "The Alchemist"). Noi siamo convinti di stare migliorando sempre piu' e lo facciamo per darvi musica sempre nuova, realizzata al meglio delle nostre possibilita'.

ENGLISH: with the powerful help of our friends "Lonesome Dave" and John Worsley of Gamma Leonis, we recorded an audiobook version of the stories contented in the booklets of our first two albums ("The Alchemist" and "The Fall of the Ancient Town"). ENGLISH: As we reported before, two bandmembers (Augusto and Roberto) joined the Grammy's nominee Chris Hedge and his "Magnetic Poets" in their show for the Winter Olympic Games, in the amazing site of Piazza Solferino, Torino, where they played every night from 7 to 8 PM (and on saturday even from 11 PM to late night) together with several talents from all across the world. Of all the great artists that cooperated with the show we specially mention the jazz sax player Chico Freeman (Earth Wind and Fire, Thelonius Monk and Marsalis between the others in his curriculum) and the enchanting voice of the american soprano singer Carol Luna, a real beauty and an incredible voice.
The concert went absolutely great! :-) Magnetic Poets did play every night for the two weeks of the Games and had a variable audience (depending from the night) but the Sponsor Village (where they did play every night) had more than 100.000 visitors just in the first week.
What we know is that there were thousands of people attending to the saturday's concert that did see our good Roberto join the stage with them for one entire hour as "main guest" and soloing artist (they had 2 shows: from 7 to 8 PM and from 11 PM to late night, Roberto did join the first one and got the spot that was of the great Chico Freeman, which is absolutely a great honor).
TWM want to thank Chris and all the Poets for this great opportunity and cast the compliments to everyone who did work in it for the incredible experience that was this live music, lights and video show. Was absolutely great to work with them all! :-)

ITALIANO: Come forse gia' sapete, Augusto e Roberto dei TWM hanno partecipato alle celebrazioni per gli indimenticabili Giochi Olimpici 2006 dando il loro contributo musicale aai concerti di Piazza Solferino. Ebbene, l'evento e' andato alla stragrande! :-)
I Magnetic Poets si sono esibiti in Piazza Solferino, presso lo Sponsor Village, tutte le sere dalle 19 alle 20, grazie ad un formidabile Chris Hedge (nominato al Grammy per i suoi progetti innovativi) ed ai suoi Magnetic Poets, nonche' ai molti artisti di talento (tra i quali vogliamo citare almeno un grande Chico Freeman, jazzista che ha suonato con gli Earth Wind and Fire e Thelonius Monk, tra gli altri, e la soprano americana Carol Luna, splendida sotto ogni aspetto e dalla voce incantevole).
Non sappiamo con certezza quanti abbiano assistito all'evento, ma sappiamo che lo sponsor village ha superato i 100.000 visitatori nella sola prima settimana olimpica e che il sabato, in occasione delle due "notti bianche", lo spettacolo veniva raddoppiato (dalle 19 alle 20 e dalle 23 ad oltranza) per la grande affluenza di pubblico. Sicuramente in migliaia hanno assistito allo spettacolo di sabato 25 febbraio (l'ingresso era gratuito ma fino a due ore di coda sono toccate a molti amici che hanno cercato di raggiungerci), dove il nostro buon Roberto ha suonato dalle 19 alle 20 "live" assieme ai Poets, con lo stesso ruolo che nelle settimane precedenti era stato del grande Chico Freeman. ENGLISH: Two bandmembers of "The Wimshurst's Machine" (Augusto and Roberto, both the sax players) will join the performance of the Magnetic Poets in occasion of the Winter Olympic Games 2006 prize ceremonies, in Torino (Italy). ITALIANO: in occasione delle cerimonie di premiazione delle prossime Olimpiadi Invernali di Torino 2006, due membri della band (Augusto e Roberto, entrambi i saxofonisti) si unranno (come rappresentanti per Torino, assieme ad altri 198 musicisti da tutto il mondo) alle performance di musica, luci e video dei Magnetic Poets, che si terranno di sera in Piazza Solferino e Piazza Castello tra il 10 ed il 26 febbraio 2006. E' possibile anche una partecipazione sul palco di fianco al grande saxofonista Chico Freeman (in occasione dello stesso evento ma in date e modalità al momento ancora da definire).

ENGLISH: The Wimshurst's Machine won the "IOMA 2006" (International Online Music Awards 2006) as "Best Instrumental Artist"! Also an our track ("Mountain Sunrise", from "A traveller who didn't ask for glory") received the nomination as "Best instrumental track" (even if it didn't win, was in the first 5).

ENGLISH: the band just released a DVD project named "Prisoner" that contains 5 music videos in hi-fi quality stereo sound and hi-definition TV video format (4 videos are in 4:3 and 1 video is in 16:9 anamorphic).
Most of those movies are not just normal videoclips with people at the instruments, but will be narrated as very short silent movies with a single-tracked soundtrack, with actors, made with a script and a storyboard.
The DVD is available as both PAL (european standard) or NTSC color (US and Japanese standard, please specify in the order or we will send a PAL copy), all are zone-free and on DVD-R.
The DVD has been tested on lots of players and is readable by every computer DVD player and most home-players (always playable on last generation players, that you may recognize, in example, cause plays also the DivX format; usually works perfectly with a player made after 2004).

ITALIANO: finalmente e' disponibile un DVD con i primi 5 videoclip della band!
Codificato in definizione video televisiva (4 video hanno proporzioni 4:3, uno e' in 16:9 anamorfico), disponibile in PAL (standard europeo) o NTSC (a richiesta). ENGLISH: a track of The Wimshurst's Machine ("Freedom Calls", from "A traveller who didn't ask for glory") will be featured in the soundtrack of the movie "The Quiet Assassin". The movie, directed by Alex Hardcastle, will be presented in the Sundance Film Festival.

ENGLISH: As statement, we will continue to work and give our help for who is in need. Never as these days people was so much in need. These days we are witness of so many disasters to be shocked, even if we somehow got used to violence and death, entering our homes by TV. It started with the tsunami, then the London Tube bombing, and now first the flood in central Europe (Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and so on), the flood in France, the hurricane who destroyed New Orleans and Biloxi, a tornado who blown away a brazilian village, and the panicked crowd who caused the death of 1000 innocent people in Baghdad.
I had a childhood full of memories about terroristic attack in my homecity and country(the 70s in Italy were called "the lead years" and the attacks caused several hundred of deaths, train, air and station bombings, and so on) and being myself two times already victim of a flood (in 1995, when I saved my car just cause I had parked on a hill, and in 2000, when we past two days in a refugee camp in the near mountains) I know well the feeling to be part of this tragedy (in all meanings). Okay, I was lucky to save home, even with damages, and to have my family safe. But I would no more watch those things on TV (natural disasters or terroristic attacks) without think back to my own experience and relate with it.
The world submerged us with bad news, and never as now we need to be close each other and think the way we may be of an help for those people who lost everything, all across the world: homes, friends, relatives, sons.
Is for every of us to remember tomorrow we may be in the same need of help.
I am asking you to do today what you hope someone would do for you tomorrow.
Even just a little thing, maybe give up smoking to give that money to someone who may need it, may be enough if we all will do it (just an example). We are planning some new activity, other than the (little) help to Madagascar Orphans and the "Make Poverty History" support. We will keep you informed.
But we like people who helps people (no matter how), so if you will send us the proof you made a donation to some charity organization (or if you send us the proof you volunteer for a no-profit organization of the same kind) WE WILL SEND YOU A LINK TO DOWNLOAD FOR FREE some exclusive track of our music to thank you for it.

ITALIANO: Noi abbiamo come proposito quello di aiutare chi si trova in stato di necessita'. E mai come in questi giorni il mondo ci ha dato prova che sono in molti ad averne bisogno. Tutto e' iniziato con lo tsunami e le centinaia di migliaia di morti, uno scenario apocalittico. Poi e' toccato alle vittime della metro di Londra, al tornado che ha spazzato via un villaggio in Brasile, per non parlare delle alluvioni in Europa centrale (Svizzera, Austria, Ungheria, ecc.), in Francia, l'uragano che ha distrutto Biloxi e New Orleans, o le mille vittime del panico a Baghdad.
Purtroppo gli attacchi terroristici ricordano a noi trentenni (e oltre) gli anni di piombo che abbiamo vissuto negli anni 70 e le centinaia di morti provocati da chi ("rosso" o "nero" che fosse) pensava di ucciderci per il nostro bene. Ed essendo stato io stesso alluvionato per ben due volte (nel 1995 tornai a casa per scoprire che era in mezzo ad un lago, salvammo le auto perche' parcheggiate piu' in alto, e nel 2000, dove vivemmo due giorni da "sfollati", dormendo in chiese e locali nei paesi piu' in alto sul crinale della montagna), capisco bene cosa si prova a vedere tutto quello che abbiamo rischiare la distruzione, sebbene io sia tra i fortunati che se la cavarono con danni tutto sommato trascurabili se confrontati con quanto vediamo oggi in TV.
Vi chiediamo infatti di dare oggi per gli altri quell'aiuto che un domani vorreste venisse dato a voi. Anche un piccolo gesto (come smettere di fumare e devolvere quei soldi in beneficienza, per fare un esempio) e' utile, quando siamo in tanti a farlo.
Noi ci ripromettiamo nuove iniziative per supportare chi ha bisogno, oltre al (piccolo) aiuto che gia' diamo agli orfani del Madagascar ed al supporto a "Make Poverty History", e vi terremo informati. Tuttavia non ci formalizziamo su chi benefici del vostro supporto, se sappiamo che gia' lo fate.
